New Feature Added!

Since it's launch in October 2009, the designers of the CheersBye have come up with many options to enhance the user friendliness of the website.

Recently, a new feature has been added, which will help the traveler to get in touch directly with the Hotels & Homestay Owners.

After browsing through the website and having made a decision, the traveller can fill out a booking request form. Once filled and sent. A mail will go directly to the Hotel or Homestay, who will in turn reply directly to the guest.

The use of this booking form is to help the traveller to get in touch with the Hotels & Homestay Owners and avail the best available rate from them and thus avoiding commissions/charges to the middle man in the process.

We at CheersBye, hope you find this feature helpful for your next booking.

If you have any suggestions to help improve CheersBye, please write to: support@cheersbye.com

Eco Habitat - Recommended Homestay in Coorg

Coorg is known for its hospitability of people and beautiful scenery. This is one of the best destinations for nature lovers in India. Travelers get fascinated by colourful scenery, wooded slopes, undulating landscape and quaint villages of coorg. There are endless mountain ranges which attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Eco Habitat's owner, Som Shekhar C from Bangalore is an experienced professional across many fields, but four years ago decided to move to a farm in the Coorg region with his young family. His love for nature and his enthusiasm to promote eco-living helped him set up a farm on which he now grows organic spices and has three cows. Taking his passion a step further and with an intent of offering  city folks a slice of nature , he also set up two homestay cottages on his farm.

The whole setting is serene, with a river a five minutes' walk away, and the cottages themselves are spacious and clean, complete with television and a private pool.

Places of Interest:

Dubare Elephant Camp: A world famous elephant camp about 15 mins drive from Eco Habitat. Here one can bathe the elephants in river Kaveri & also witness feeding them. Guests can also have a ride on them.

Chickli Hole Reservoir: A beautiful water boday just about 18 mins drive from Eco Habitat. A beautiful lake covered with lush green forest. One can also opt to cycle to this spectacular place from Eco Habitat.

Cauvery River: Just about 5 mins walk from the pool VIlla. This is for nature lovers who love to watch the river and also various species of migratory and resident birds. Dubare forest on the other side of the bank is the home to a lot of species of birds and animals.

Comment from guest:
"In this summer season where all the hotels and cottages in Coorg are crowded, we have selected Eco Habitat because we wanted a relaxing weekend.
Well situated among all the main sightseeings of Coorg, it is a quite place full of greeneries. The house is among a big coconut, palm and spice field. The owner Som and his wife received us nicely with very good home food and they kindly arrange our 3 days trip in Coorg, recommanding us what to visit, where to get Coorgi food and how to reach thoses places. We enjoyed our first trip in Coorg, feeling like at home, we will definitively come back for trekking, fishing and rafting."

Website - Revisited

After an overwhelming response since it's launch in October, www.cheersbye.com has come up with a new interactive more user friendly website.

What catches your eyes the moment you log on is the map of India which is placed right in the middle of it. What's more interesting is that the moment you click on a state it zooms out the state pointing out the different cities and towns. So it's not only useful, but also educative. :-)

Looking at the homepage, you get to browse not only by the different locations but also by the different categories. To make things easier, there is also a search bar where you can type in a destination or a property to go directly to the link

Once you select the destination, you will be taken to a landing page of the destination which will have an A - Z list of all the properties and also some recommended properties.

From there on you are basically linked directly to the property of your choice. The best part about this website is that you get to see all the listed properties in the destination and you can compare the prices and packages all in one page.

Cheersbye.com stands by it's concept: No Commission; No Middleman; No Hassle and has created the website on these lines.

The unique idea and the simplicity of the website makes it easy for anyone to use and links you directly to your choice without being flooded by other third party websites and travel agents.

www.cheersbye.com should make your travel search so much easier than searching through a search engine!

Happy Holidays!

Cheersbye.com - Bookings website to forgo commissions

Bookings website to forgo commissions

by James Durston on Oct 27, 2009
Group Editor ITP Publishing India

A new website will be the market’s first commission-free booking hub, according to its founder. By linking visitors directly to hotels’ own websites, Jay Prakash. R, CEO at www.cheersbye.com, claims travellers will have access to a hotel’s own rates in real time, thereby saving money compared to those who book through other collator sites.

“Currently these sites like Expedia, Travelocity and MakeMyTrip pick up inventories and mark up the price by up to 25%, so their customers do not have access to the best available rates. My site links directly to the hotel’s own site and so is a one-stop shop for accessing the best rates in your chosen destination,” Prakash told HotelierIndia.com.

The site will provide alphabetical listings in five categories in many towns and cities across India, with a focus on tier-2 and tier-3 towns. The five categories are: Hotels & Resorts; Restaurants & Pubs; Apartments & Homestays; Meetings & Events Halls; Shopping & Entertainment.

Listed companies will be able to pay a price to become a ‘recommended’ property and appear at the top of the list. But only three recommendations will be available per category and “the recommended properties needs to have some class and a marvellous website,” said Prakash.

Prakash also intends to charge for listings in the Meetings & Events and Shopping & Entertainment categories. “Meetings & Events will be my USP. No one else has a listing for this high growth segment, and I’ll choose hotels that have at least five halls, and great websites so that it still looks good on my site.”

He also thinks the Apartments & Homestays category will be popular. “Many serviced apartments and homestays have marvellous websites but they don’t have the money to market them. They don’t appear in even the top ten pages of a Google search. They now have this opportunity.”

The project goes completely live on November 1 with more than 5,000 Hotels & Resorts, 2,000 Serviced Apartments & Homestays, 9,000 Restaurants & Pubs, 3,000 Banquet Halls and 7,000 Shopping & Entertainment properties listed.
